Surge in COVID infections in China could disrupt the fireworks supply chain

December 28,2022

China will reopen borders and abandon quarantine after it downgrades its treatment of Covid-19 on January 8, marking the complete end of the three-year zero-Covid policy, which will make international trade for fireworks and firecrackers more convenient.

The change in Covid policy in China has led to a surge in Covid-19 infections. At present, Liuyang and Jiangxi have entered the peak of infection, and many fireworks and firecrackers factories are facing a shortage of workers because of the increase in positive patients, affecting this year's fireworks and firecrackers's production.

As Covid infections surge, fireworks logistics and raw material production, as well as port handling are also affected, resulting in the impact on the fireworks and firecrackers industry supply chain.
